The curved end profile makes this excellent for creating, smoothing and blending curved surfaces in bowl work, e.g. round bottomed boxes. This tool is able to take an aggressive cut, whilst retaining sensitivity for refining cuts. Made from M2 high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. They will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist “blued” softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. They come with a hard White Ash handle and solid brass ferrule. Handle is 10 inches long with the tool being 6 inches in length. Overall length is 16 inches.
